Welcome to Cardinal Counseling & Yoga

My name is Renee Cummings, LCSW and I am a therapist, a 200 hour registered yoga teacher, and the owner of Cardinal Counseling & Yoga, LLC.

 

I am a licensed clinical social worker and work with folks that reside in Connecticut, Illinois, or Florida. I have been in the clinical field and providing theraputic services to folks for 17 years. I typically can offer you an immediate opening for a telehealth session.

I often hear "I just want to have someone to talk to." My role as a therapist working with you is to be that person that you feel safe, secure, and connected with so that we can talk and work through whatever it is that brings you to therapy. I value the therapeutic relationship and establishing a genuine connection as we work together towards your outcome of treatment.  In treatment, I focus on your goals with the aim of helping you to thrive. 

 

I believe that we all experience bumps in the road on this journey we call LIFE. I am committed to providing quality and effective therapeutic services to you!      

 

My approach is client centered, strength-based, and solution focused. I work with with a variety of ages starting with teenagers that are ages 16 and up including young adults and folks that may be into their middle or older years. I provide clients therapeutic services including individual therapy for mental health, behavioral health, and healthy relationships.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and continue to attend clinical EMDR consultations in addition to being a member of EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). I maintain my continuing education throughout the year in a variety of clinical areas to help me stay up to date with the most relevant, evidence based treatments so that I can offer you the best services.
